  • Tethered Oral Tissues- tongue, lip and/or cheek restrictions

  • Supply issues (Over or Under)

  • Pumping concerns - flange fit, pump set up or function

  • Thrush

Helping you move from uncertainty to confidence, one step at a time.

Welcome — I’m so glad you’re here.

Hi there. I’m Heather, owner of Beyond The Breast, mom of 7, and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I’ve been on the floor myself, and know what it takes to get back up and keep moving toward those personal feeding goals. I can help you write a new breastfeeding story — one you love.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been passionate about supporting young children and families. I started my journey with a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from UNC Wilmington, spending 10 wonderful years teaching preschool before discovering my true calling — helping parents and babies build strong, confident connections through feeding.

In 2006, I became a La Leche League Leader, working closely with families to offer guidance and encouragement through the ups and downs of breastfeeding. I spent over a decade with La Leche League, including five years as a Leader Coordinator, mentoring other volunteers and deepening my understanding of family-centered support. In 2011, I became a Board-Certified Lactation Consultant, turning my passion into a full-time mission to empower parents in their infant feeding journeys across Fort Worth with expert, judgment-free lactation support — right in your home, in my cozy office, or virtually.

My Approach
At Beyond the Breast, I believe that every family’s journey is unique — and every family deserves personalized, compassionate care.
I take a holistic approach to feeding challenges, looking beyond the immediate concern to the whole parent, the whole baby, and the root causes behind feeding difficulties. I bring additional training in tethered oral tissues, gut-brain health, aromatherapy, herbal support, and infant massage to help create truly customized care plans.

Focusing on education, empowerment, and support — giving you the tools and confidence to meet your goals and nurture your bond with your baby, from birth and beyond.

Why I Do This Work
Feeding your baby shouldn’t be overwhelming.
Whether you’re facing unexpected challenges, seeking reassurance, or simply wanting to prepare for a strong start, I’m here to walk alongside you with respect, knowledge, and heartfelt support. You deserve to feel seen, heard, and supported — every step of the way.

Thank you for trusting me to be part of your story. I’m honored to support you.

How We Can Help.

Prenatal

Prenatal sessions are the perfect time to learn about milk production, infant feeding and sleep patterns, latch techniques and positioning. We’ll also chat about ways to help maximize milk supply, signs of potential concerns and tips for thriving in the first few weeks.

Feeding Consults

During our time together, we will review health history and baby's, do a quick weight check, an assessment of baby and a feeding or pumping session.

A follow up visit may be scheduled to assist in meeting your goals, review previous concerns and address current questions.

Pumping

During a fitting consult, we’ll discuss the differences between wearable and traditional pumps, flange types, fit, pumping schedules and milk storage.

Sessions can be held virtually or in person.

Milestones

The first year is filled with growth for baby and parents! Milestone consults are a great way to touch base and check in to see how your baby is growing, make adjustments for changes in your lives or preparations for upcoming events.
