How much does a Lactation Consult cost?
Many insurance companies cover the costs of lactation visits. (If you ask me, ALL should!) I use The Lactation Network (TLN) to cover your visits with me! They act as the primary provider for Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Anthem PPO, and other insurance plans.
Check your coverage HERE.
If your insurance does not cover visits, my self-pay rate is:
$165 initial office visit$135 follow up office visits
$195 initial home visit
$145 follow up home visit

Where’s your office located? At The Chiropractic Place for Mommy & Me in Aledo, Texas (203 E. Oak St). Our building sits behind the Aledo Flower Shoppe. Look for a big sign at the end of the driveway! Check in at the front desk and I’ll be with you soon!
How do I book an appointment with you?
  • Check here with The Lactation Network (TLN) on your insurance coverage first.
  • Book online with me here after submitting your info with TLN.
  • IF TLN isn’t in network with your insurance, no worries! Many insurances do cover Lactation Visits, I’ll provide you with an itemized receipt that you can submit for reimbursement and you’ll pay at the time of our appointment.
  • Follow all prompts and links in any emails from me. It’s best to have these finished before the day of your appointment, so I can gather additional resources if needed.
How much milk does my newborn need?
Your newborn baby's belly is tiny…think drops! But they grow fast and need to eat often. At first, you’ll produce colostrum (it’s more yellow). Next, the more classic-looking milk comes in. I usually go over the first 8 weeks of what feeding looks like because it changes a lot!

When can I introduce a bottle?  One of the big questions! This varies for each family because of medical needs, feeding goals, and milk supply. We want to get into specifics so I can best answer that question for you and your baby.
Now I will say — a bottle at bedtime or naptime won’t ruin anything. You need rest too, and a bottle can help you get it. But we really should chat if and how you want to bottle-feed.

When will my baby sleep through the night?  I can’t guarantee or give a good guess for YOUR baby, but many start to sleep longer stretches around 3 months.
It’s developmentally appropriate for babies to wake during the night throughout the first year. (Tough to hear, but honest.) Think about it, as adults we wake during the night too. Not usually for food, but to shift the blankets, use the bathroom, snuggle into our partner or spouse (or push them away), etc. It helps to set realistic sleeping expectations, and we can discuss good habits and routines too.

Do you really wear boob earrings?
HA! Not really a lactation question but it’s one I get whenever people meet me. We take things way too seriously and a little fun goes a long way with exhausted or scared new parents. Depending on the day, you’ll see boob earrings, dinosaurs, light bulbs, or tardigrades (look them up — so cute!). I love bringing fun to our visits however I can.
