Over the last few years, I have updated our cancellation policy for illness. I want all of us to be safe. In addition to continuing to practice good hygiene during home and office consults, we are adding the following safety measures to our visit prep list:
Virtual Consults are always an option and I am happy to change your Home or Office Consult to a Virtual Consult.
Please let me know in a timely manner if you or anyone in your family is symptomatic for any illness or has a fever above 100.5 so we can create a plan to keep us all safe and illness free.
If you or anyone in your home is sick with the flu, fever, vomiting, or diarrhea upon arrival at your home, the visit will be canceled and you will be charged a $75 fee.
No cancellation fee will be charged if you communicate illness in a timely manner and we choose to cancel or reschedule.
I ask that only the immediate care provider(s) be present for In-Office consults to minimize risks.
Please let me know if you are in need of assistance for your appointment. I am happy to help to the best of my ability.
For In-Home consults, I ask that only the immediate family be present during consults.
I will be washing my hands as often as necessary during the consult. Please have liquid soap (dish soap is fine) & paper towels available.
Please provide a clean, light weight swaddle blanket to put on my scale.
I prefer not to conduct the visit in your bedroom. I will teach you how to adapt any position I show you to do in your bed.
In case of our own illness or family emergency, we will communicate with you in a timely manner and will make every effort to reschedule you or refer you to another IBCLC, and no cancellation fee will be charged to you.
Following best practices, I do wear gloves when directly interacting with you and your infant, washing or replacing as needed to include before and after oral or breast assessments.
These guidelines follow the updated recommendations of the CDC
